Flight Instructor: Phil Grgurich
CFI
Phil's had a passion for flying since he began building model airplanes as a child. He began flying C150's and C172's as a teen in Illinois and achieved his Private Pilot license in 40 hours at 19 years old. Upon graduating high school and moving to Chicago, he decided to go to college and earn his bachelor's degree - graduating from DePaul University in 1995.
After taking a few years break to raise his two daughters, he decided to continue flight training to include Tailwheel endorsement, Instrument rating, Commercial, Multi-engine rating and Flight Instructor Certification. He has logged hundreds of hours in various airplanes, from jets and multi engine turbo-props, to TBM, Beechcraft, Cirrus, Vans, Cessna, and Piper airplanes. Parallel to his flying adventures, his "real" job was in software sales/consulting until his recent decision to focus on flying full time. He's very excited to impart the knowledge and fun of flying and instructing students on how to be a safe, and proficient pilot.
In his spare time, Phil spends time flying his Beechcraft Baron and Debonair, car restoration, riding his Harley, and playing guitar. He brings years of experience and immense passion for flying as well as ensuring habits that promote safe flying. Phil is married to Haley, and lives in Lakeway, TX, near his two daughters.
