Flight Instructor: Katie Kelly

CFI
Katie Kelly is a native Montanan but moved to Texas from Michigan in 2021. She is retired USAF and a Fixed Wing CFI. Her journey in aviation started from about the time she was old enough to walk. Katie grew up in the seat of a Cessna as her family owned and operated the local FBO, flight school and charter service of Billings, MT. It was there, at Lynch Flying Service, that she developed the love for aviation. Katie joined Civil Air Patrol as a youth and began her flight training at the age of 15.
Upon graduation of high school, she moved to the ranks of senior member in CAP and joined the United States Air Force where she served in active duty in occupational health and flight line operations, including a tour at Balad Air Base Iraq, during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Katie is a graduate of American Military University with a Bachelor’s in pre-law and she also studied Aviation Science at Liberty University. When Katie isn’t instructing, she spends her time with her husband and three kids traveling, flying, cooking and boating.
